Carla Taveggia

Carla Taveggia Carla Taveggia got her master degree in Biology from UniversitàStatale in Milan, (Italy) and her PhD degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the Open University, London (UK), while attending the Biology of Myelin Unit at the San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan (Italy).

She then moved to the New York University, New York, NY (US) for a post-doctoral period in the laboratory of Dr J. Salzer, where she investigated the role of Neuregulin in PNS myelination.

In 2008 she obtained a Transition Career Award from the Italian MS Society and moved back to the San Raffaele Scientific Institute to establish her independent line of research. Since 2011 she is Group Leader and Head of the Axo-Glia Interaction Unit at the San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan (Italy).
